Mental Health and Well Being

Mental Health and Well Being

At Mevagissey School we promote good mental health and wellbeing for the whole school community and we encourage children to talk to a trusted adult in school to share any worries or anxieties.

We have a graduated response to issues involving mental health and our staff are always available to talk to parents and carers about any concerns they may have about their child.

Pyramid of Need
The image below details some of the support and interventions we provide pupils with their mental health and well being.
We are also able to direct parents and carers to professional support outside of the school if needed.

Support for parents
Coping with a child with poor mental health can be extremely worrying.  We are here to support the children and their families so please do reach out to us.

There are many organisations who offer support and advice.

The Anna Freud Centre is an online resource offering advice to schools, parents and children on a whole range of mental health issues.
Penhaligon's Friends is a Cornish Charity who provides support for parents, carers and children in dealing with grief.
